Louisiana State Police Investigate Car Wreck on LA 3132

The Louisiana State Police are still investigating a crash that recently took place on La. 3132. One person died as a result of the car wreck. The other driver has not yet been charged pending the outcome of the official investigation.
A vehicle was traveling eastbound on La. 3132 when the driver of that vehicle lost control. The vehicle careened through the median and rolled over into the westbound lanes. A vehicle traveling on the west side of the highway was struck by the vehicle. The driver of that vehicle was thrown from her car during the impact.
The woman that was thrown from her vehicle sustained fatal injuries and was pronounced dead by authorities at the scene. The woman that lost control of her vehicle sustained injuries that were not considered life threatening. She provided the Louisiana State Police with a toxicology sample and was taken in to talk to investigators about the accident. The screening was said to be routine, but depending on the results of the test, it could affect any charges that may be filed against the driver.
As the investigation progresses, the family of the deceased victim may be struggling to deal with her sudden death. The victim was only 37 years old when she died. Any family members that may be left behind retain the right to file a wrongful death claim against the driver of the other vehicle regardless of the criminal charges that may be filed. The money won’t bring their loved one back to them, but it could help with the unexpected expenses the family has encountered since the car wreck.
